• Software-defined storage nodes — Ceph, MinIO, TrueNAS and similar SDS platforms want exactly this: a handful of large-capacity spinning bays behind a general-purpose CPU, not a CPU-heavy compute box.
• Media, surveillance & NVR backends — sustained sequential write workloads (CCTV/NVR ingestion, video archives) fit a 10-bay LFF layout better than an SFF/NVMe-dense chassis.
• Budget-flexible builds — because CPU/RAM/network are configured per order rather than fixed to one SKU, you can right-size compute to the workload instead of paying for cores you won't use.

Where this server will let you down

• Not a fixed spec sheet. Because this is a build-to-order chassis, we can't quote you an exact CPU generation or core count until you tell us your workload — if you want an off-the-shelf, fully-specified unit today, a named model (Dell/HPE/Cisco/Lenovo) will move faster.
• 10 LFF bays, not built for IOPS. This chassis is capacity-first. If your workload needs high random IOPS (databases, VDI), you want an SFF/NVMe-bay Supermicro or a named server instead — ask us for that configuration.
• Only 10 bays, not the max. Supermicro's 2U LFF line goes up to 12 bays in some chassis. If you need every last drive slot, tell us and we'll check what's available before you commit to this exact unit.
