The HPE ProLiant XL730f Gen8 is a liquid-cooled compute tray for the HPE Apollo 8000 system — not a standalone rack server. It requires Apollo 8000's rack-level liquid cooling infrastructure (sealed copper tubing and thermal bus bars) and cannot be deployed air-cooled in a standard rack. Each 1U half-width tray runs a 12 or 14-core Intel Xeon E5-series processor with 16 DDR3 DIMM slots, up to 256GB RAM.
Typical Use
Extreme-density HPC deployments where the Apollo 8000's liquid cooling enables far higher rack power density than air-cooled servers — up to 72 of these trays fit in a single Apollo f8000 rack. You'll need a compatible Apollo 8000 chassis to deploy this.
