The Oldest ProDesk 600, Priced Like It
The HP ProDesk 600 G1 SFF is the first-generation model in HP's ProDesk 600 line, launched in 2013 on Intel's 4th Generation "Haswell" platform with the Q85 Express chipset. It predates the G3 and G5 ProDesk 600 SFF units also listed on Serverwale, both of which run newer Intel platforms with DDR4 memory. The G1 uses DDR3 RAM instead — that's the single biggest technical difference, and it's why this unit is priced at ₹15,000, the lowest in the ProDesk 600 lineup on our site. We're not repositioning it as anything more than what it is: a basic, reliable business desktop for light everyday computing.
What's Inside
Each unit ships with a 4th Gen Intel Core processor — i3, i5, or i7 (Haswell, socket LGA1150), or in some configurations a 4th Gen Pentium — paired with Intel HD Graphics integrated on the chip. RAM is DDR3-1600 (PC3-12800) across 4 DIMM slots, expandable up to 32GB, though most refurbished units in this price band ship with 4GB or 8GB, which is what this machine was designed around. Storage is a SATA HDD or SSD (2.5" or 3.5" bay), and the SFF chassis has room for a second drive bay plus a slim optical/media bay if the unit still has it fitted. A single low-profile PCIe x16 slot (PCIe 2.0) is available for a compact graphics card if ever needed, though the onboard Intel HD Graphics is sufficient for the workloads this machine is meant for.
Honest Positioning: What It's Good For
This is a light-use, entry-level machine — not a performance PC. It's a genuinely good fit for web browsing, email, MS Office/document work, a billing or POS terminal, a reception or front-desk system, a thin-client for remote desktop/VDI sessions, or a spare backup PC for a small office. We would not recommend it for video editing, modern gaming, heavy multitasking, or any workload that assumes DDR4 speeds or a recent CPU generation. If your need is exactly that — a dependable, low-cost desktop for basic tasks — the G1 does the job at a price point none of our newer ProDesk units can match.
Condition, Testing & OS
Every unit passes Serverwale's hardware testing before listing — CPU, RAM, storage, ports, and boot are checked. The desktop is supplied reloaded with Windows 10 (the original factory OS on this model was Windows 7/8, since discontinued by Microsoft), activated and ready to use out of the box, along with free WiFi connectivity added for convenience since this era of ProDesk did not include WiFi as standard. As with all our refurbished stock, it comes with our standard testing and support backing — contact our team for current warranty terms on this listing.
