What the OptiPlex 3070 Micro Actually Is
The Dell OptiPlex 3070 Micro is Dell's entry-level ultra-compact desktop from the 9th Generation Intel "Coffee Lake Refresh" family, built on the Intel B360 chipset. It sits one tier below Dell's business-class 5070 and 7070 Micro (which use the vPro-capable Q370 chipset) — so on this refurbished 3070 you get the same tiny 0.6-litre-class chassis and desk-saving footprint, but without vPro remote management and with the more basic B360 platform underneath. It's an honest budget pick for office, front-desk, POS, or home productivity use — not a workstation.
Processor and Performance
The OptiPlex 3070 Micro was originally sold with a range of 9th Gen Intel processors — Pentium Gold, Core i3, Core i5, and Core i7 (T-suffix / low-power variants, e.g. i3-9100T, i5-9500T, i7-9700T) — paired with integrated Intel UHD Graphics 630. There is no discrete GPU slot in this chassis; the Micro form factor physically cannot fit one, and the low-wattage external power brick that powers it isn't built for a graphics card either. For everyday office work, browsers with dozens of tabs, spreadsheets, and light multitasking, the i5/i7 configurations are comfortably capable. It is not intended for gaming or GPU-heavy workloads.
Memory and Storage
Memory runs on 2 SODIMM slots of dual-channel DDR4, officially supporting up to 32GB (2x16GB), clocked at 2666MHz on i5/i7 configurations (2400MHz on Pentium Gold/i3). Storage is handled through a single M.2 slot (NVMe or SATA M.2 SSD) as primary storage, with an optional secondary 2.5" SATA SSD bay in some configurations — this Micro chassis has no room for a 3.5" hard drive, so every unit we sell runs entirely on solid-state storage for fast boot and app-load times.
Build, Mounting, and Connectivity
The chassis measures roughly 18.2 x 3.6 x 17.8 cm and weighs about 1.2kg, small enough to tuck behind a monitor or under a desk. It supports Dell's Micro VESA mount and dual-VESA mount accessories, letting you bolt it directly to the back of a compatible display for a true clutter-free setup. This listing includes integrated Wi-Fi, so you're not tied to a wired-only desk.
What You're Getting — Refurbished, Tested, Honest Grading
Every unit is inspected, stress-tested, and reinstalled with a genuine licensed OS before it ships from Serverwale. Because this is the entry B360 tier of the Micro family, expect it to be positioned and priced as a budget business/home desktop — not a direct substitute for the vPro-enabled 5070/7070 Micro. If you need remote out-of-band management or vPro features for fleet deployment, look at our 5070/7070 Micro listings instead.
