• It's a Haswell/Broadwell-era platform (2014–2017). No native NVMe backplane, no DDR4 speeds above 2400 MT/s — if you need NVMe flash at scale or the newest per-core performance, look at a Gen10 or newer platform instead.
• E5-2600 v3 and v4 CPUs cannot be mixed on the same motherboard. If you're expanding an existing Gen9 deployment, match the CPU generation exactly before buying.
• It uses iLO, not iDRAC. If your team is used to managing Dell servers, note that remote management here is HPE's Integrated Lights-Out (iLO 4) — a different tool with a different workflow.
• Max RAM depends on DIMM type. 768GB is the practical ceiling with standard RDIMMs; 3TB needs 128GB LRDIMMs, which cost significantly more than standard memory.
