HP ProDesk 600 G3 SFF — 7th Gen Business Desktop
The ProDesk 600 G3 is HP's business-class Small Form Factor desktop from the 7th Generation Intel "Kaby Lake" platform, built around the Q270 chipset. It sits one generation behind the newer ProDesk 600 G5, but it remains a genuinely solid, well-built office machine — HP designed this series for corporate fleets, so the units we source have typically spent their life on a desk running office software, not in a gaming rig or a mining farm. Each unit is refurbished, function-tested and cleaned before listing.
Processor and Everyday Performance
Depending on the exact configuration in stock, the ProDesk 600 G3 SFF ships with a 7th Gen Intel Core i3, i5 or i7 processor (Pentium/Celeron variants also existed in this line, but our listings are Core-series). These are quad-core-capable chips with Intel HD Graphics 630 built in (610 on Pentium/Celeron variants), which comfortably handles Windows 11, browser-heavy multitasking, Tally/ERP software, video calls and general office productivity without a discrete GPU.
Memory and Storage
The system uses standard DDR4-2400 non-ECC UDIMM memory across 4 DIMM slots, officially supported up to 64GB — more than enough headroom for multitasking or lightweight virtualization years after purchase. On the storage side, the SFF chassis includes one internal M.2 slot (M.2 2280, PCIe/NVMe or SATA depending on board revision) plus room for one 3.5" SATA HDD, so you can run a fast SSD as the boot drive and keep a large HDD for bulk storage — a setup we configure per unit based on what's listed.
Expansion and Ports
Being a Small Form Factor case, expansion is deliberately limited: two low-profile PCIe slots (one x16 slot wired for x4 bandwidth, one x1), both accepting only low-profile cards — fine for a low-profile GPU, capture card or serial/parallel adapter, but not a full-size gaming graphics card. The rear panel carries a full set of legacy and modern ports (USB, DisplayPort/VGA options, Ethernet), and there's a dedicated M.2 2230 slot for an internal WLAN/Bluetooth card, which we populate as part of our free WiFi add-on on these listings.
Who This Suits
This is a compact, quiet, low-power desktop aimed at office desks, reception counters, billing counters and accounts departments — anywhere you need a reliable Windows PC without the footprint or noise of a tower. It is not intended for gaming or heavy GPU workloads given the SFF chassis' power and expansion limits. All units are sold with our standard Serverwale refurbished warranty and support.
